The Myth About Fruit & Sugar
Yes, sugar can interfere with your health and diet goals. But not all sugar, right? Some recent health trends have been excluding fruit from your diet as a means to avoid all sugars. #NoSugar has been circulating. Not all sugars are created equally, and you certainly shouldn’t give up fruit. Processed, refined, and added sugars are not healthy. Natural sugars found in starches and fruits are actually beneficial. They provide energy that your body and brain need. Not to mention all of the fiber and vitamins that fruit gives you. The reason you get a sugar rush from candy, but not from fruit, is because in addition to natural sugar, fruit contains proteins and fiber. This balances out the sugar and helps your body digest it properly. So cut out Oreos from your diet, and pass the bananas.
