Drink This to Reduce Alcohol Damage to Your Liver
According to research done at Southampton University in the U.K., people who drink 2 or more cups of coffee a day and 44% less likely to develop cirrhosis of the liver. Cirrhosis is a serious and permanent condition that occurs slowly over time from excessive drinking. It comes on slowly, with symptoms of fatigue and muscle weakness, but can lead to gastrointenstinal bleeding, jaundice, and other serious problems. Filtered coffee is the most effective, blended drinks won’t do the trick. If you’re a weekend binge drinker, consider adding a few cups of coffee to your brunch menu. But remember that coffee isn’t a cure-all and that alcohol should be consumed in moderation.
